Give Back

Giving back to the community is a main priority of Hello GorJess

Jessica has the hope of beginning a nonprofit, The 2328 Foundation, in 2022 where she can make her dream of giving back on a larger scale a reality. To the readers and listeners of Hello GorJess, your help is always needed and appreciated. Through Jessica’s various efforts of helping all in the community, nothing is possible without you and your generous donations.

Some of Hello GorJess’ current passion projects include:

The Rebirth Project

Through the sales of Jessica’s children’s book, Sophie’s Saturday Adventure, Jessica received many generous donation beyond the the cost of the book. Feeling gratitude for the generosity of those who purchased, Jessica decided to create a passion project, The Rebirth Project. This project is an effort to bring beauty to our community and earth by growing butterflies. Read about the project HERE or listen to Jessica’s podcast episode where she tells the story of the inspiration behind The Rebirth Project HERE.

Bags Of Sunshine

Bags of Sunshine, a passion project created by Jessica and her mom, is designed to give back to children in Lafourche Parish who will be removed from their homes due to domestic violence and/or sexual assault. This project has been a work in progress for some time and Jessica shared a video on instagram HERE where she goes into detail explaining her inspiration behind Bags of Sunshine. Jessica and her mom’s main goal is to provide bags of comfort including; a coloring book, colored pencils, a small stuffed animal and a small child-sized blanket for each. The goal for this project is to have 50 bags donated to each parish and have the funds to replenish as they run out.

GorJess Little Free Library

GorJess Little Pink Free Library is an effort to promote literature in our area and get kids excited about reading. How amazing that we have this movement, little free library, which is the largest book sharing movement in the world. Jessica is thrilled to bring a registered little free library to downtown Thibodaux. She hopes to attract locals and visitors to continue the movement of sharing diverse literature and making literature available to all people who may find literature scarce all while promoting the community.

If you would like to donate money to provide books for our little free library, please scan or clock on the QR code below!

“I pray the compelling feeling that I have in my heart to give back in any capacity only grows stronger as I grow older. With the means of my platform and this community, I pray to continue to bring awareness to those in need- especially those who are in our own back yards.”

Testimonials From Donors

Children are innocent beings who deserve to know that they are loved and cared for, no matter their circumstance. These “Bags of Sunshine” will bring joy to their lives and that is something that I want to be a part of! Supporting Jessica’s endeavors is a MUST for me because she is consistently working for the betterment of others. Her level of selflessness is hard to come by and this fundraiser is a testament to that!

“The moment I saw Jessica’s story for ‘Bags of Sunshine’ I immediately knew it was something I wanted to be a part of. I knew I wanted to help put a smile on a child’s face and give them some sunshine during a sad and dark time in their life. It was a no brainer to donate to be able to bring a little joy to some of the children in our community who need it most.

-Katie Rodrigue: Local Donor

“First and foremost, children are our future. These little bags of sunshine can help little ones have something of their own – use their imaginations, dream of their futures, ignite something inside themselves. In a world where it is such a chaotic mess, it can be used to escape reality a bit. Giving or investing in children today is like a peddle being dropped in a pond, the ripple effect has far reaching!
