Home For The Holidays

My home is ready for the holidays!

Yes, I decorated before Thanksgiving. After this year, there are no rules! You just do what makes you happy and decorating with my mom the week before Christmas made me extra happy this year!

I am so happy to invite you into my home for the holidays (virtually of course) and take you on a quick home tour of my home at Christmas time. So, come on in!

Two words: frasier fir! This was the first year I got my hands on some frasier fir garland and I am obsessed with the aroma that fills my home every day. I am a lover of a real Christmas tree and I know you are all probably wondering why I have a fake wooden tree, but honestly, I love my wooden Christmas tree and the look it creates on my brick wall (I will get to story in a bit).

I am a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas decorating, although my style takes me in a direction where I prefer to make my home feel like Christmas. When I walk in my home, it feels like Christmas and that is what I love most.

White, gold, green, and a touch of red for fun is how I typically do Christmas. This year was also the first year I put up these gold candle holders that are mixed metals. This was actually done by mistake, but I love the turn out and I love the contrast on the mantle. My mom gets all of the credit for decorating the garland.

We found these glitter balls at Michaels that just added a little sparkle that we both felt the mantle needed. I had the pinecones and glitter vine from previous years of decorating. I bought a box of bells at Hobby Lobby a couple weeks ago and threw these in too.

Like I said above, I’m normally a live tree girl, but I LOVE the look of my wooden tree against my brick wall. I have been having this tree for years and last year, I painted it white and changed up the lights and bulbs to fit my style. My Dad built this tree for me, which makes fit extra special.

My mom and I found these lanterns at Michaels and we both screamed, “THOSE ARE THE ONES!” I knew I wanted lanterns at the bottom of my mantle and we both thought adding the lights and candles would add to the Christmas ambiance. We kept the consistency of the mantle garland on the floor to add some dimension and texture. I love lighting these at night and enjoying this view in the evening. All I need is some hot chocolate and a Christmas movie!

My coffee table tray typically stays the same all year long. I switch out my magnolia journals each season and add something festive to the tray to tie in whatever season we are in. This is my first Christmas decorating in my newly refreshed home and I just love the look and feel of my home at Christmas time.

My Santa letter pillow has been a tradition of mine for years, so that always goes on my couch and I put out my red blanket on my sofa to keep it festive. The chunky blanket was made by a friend of mine, so I keep it on the chair to add to the warm, cozy feeling of Winter.

Wrapping up this post with a bow (or two)! I love the addition of these two little bows on my lamps. This space needed some glitter and these bows were the perfect touch!

2020 is almost over, friends! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and the best New Year!

I hope you enjoyed this post and please be sure to leave a comment on the blog to tell me your favorite Christmas tradition with your family!
