I have been an attendee of Acadia Music Festival since 2016, the very first year the festival was put-on by the Ben Myer Foundation.

For the past two years, it has become a tradition for my friends and I to gather and attend the festival. I look forward to this each year as this festival is only continuing to grow!
October is one of my favorite months and it just so happens Acadia Music Fest is held each year in October. From the cool weather, great music, good food and even better company…this festival is always sure to be a fun time!
How AWESOME is it that we have a music festival right here in the small town of Thibodaux!?
I’m super excited to be featuring various aspects of Acadia music festival for the next several months.
This month we are getting down to the nitty gritty and talking about the heart of this music festival and how it all came about.
I had the pleasure of speaking to Mrs. Amy Hebert who is in charge of marketing the music festival.
Back in July of 2016, it was decided that the Ben Myer Foundation would host a concert in October to raise money for a local organization in which they were passionate about. Each year all proceeds from the festival would be donated to support a different local organization.
In 2016, the festival donated money to Upside Downs, a local organization supporting children with Down syndrome. In 2017, money was donated to local non profit organization, Hi- 5, where local advocates mentor children. This year, profits will be donated to Max Charter School to help with funding a school library.

With the communities support, our support, we are helping to make a difference for local organizations- all while enjoying a fun day with family and friends. Can’t get much better than that!
This music festival is kid friendly, so grab some lawn chairs or a blanket, your best friends, kiddos and family members and head on out to Acadia Music Festival on October 6th! Mark your calendar! It’s sure to be one amazing day and you won’t want to miss out!
