Quick Tips To Jumpstart Your Morning

Does your alarm(s) look like mine? Whether you are headed to work or planning a productive day, utilizing your morning is key. Over the years I have realized a few things that work for me, which may help some of you make the most of your morning.

I’m am NOT a morning person! I’d consider myself a person who (now) takes very little time to get ready. This was not always the case. Over time, I have developed a routine that has changed my mornings, which ultimately changed my days.

Evaluate how much time it takes you to get fully ready, feeling and looking your absolute best. This will help you to determine how much time it takes you to get ready, deciding how early you have to wake up.

I know this seems obvious, but at one point people would ask me, “how long does it take you to get ready” and to be truthful, I had no idea until I timed myself.

My biggest focus on this post is giving yourself the time you need. We all dread that feeling of being rushed and feeling unprepared. Use these tips to help you jumpstart your morning!

1.MAKE YOUR BED

Making my bed is my first priority. I learned that when I get out of bed, I need to make it immediately. This helps me start my day and avoid slipping back under the covers.

2.COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE

Next I fix my coffee in my travel mug. In this time span I usually pick up my clean dishes from the night before to continue being productive.

3. LESS MAKEUP IS MORE

Although my skin is wack, I rarely wear a ton of makeup. In the morning, I have learned to simplify my (daily) makeup application process in order to save myself some time. Ladies, cut out the excessive eye shadow/eyeliner process if you are looking to add a few extra minutes to your morning. Utilize your eye curler and rely on mascara to make you look awake. I’m not a morning person AT. ALL. so my goal is life is to make #trolling trendy.

4.PICK OUT CLOTHES/IRON THE NIGHT BEFORE

Y’all, this has been a game changer in my morning routine. If you are anything like me in the morning, I’m a cranky, indecisive and irrational person who needs five more minutes of sleep. Picking out clothes in the morning has always been a struggle for me. I learned years ago to pick out and steam my clothes the night before. I can’t tell you how much this has helped me jumpstart my morning.

Not even kidding guys, I can now wake up thirty minutes later than I normally would by doing all the things I listed above. Isn’t this so simple? We all know thirty more minutes of sleep sounds like a “dream”.

  1. I make my bed everyday after the dogs have been fed. They take the first 30 minutes of my morning when I jump out of bed (I don’t jump out of bed by any means I do it in layers LOL). I layout my exercise clothes the night before and dress after the bed is made. Being retired is wonderful but I still like a routine to get my day started. I love your blogs.
