How Coconut Oil Pulling Can Transform Your Health

About 6 months ago, one of my friends told me she was “oil pulling.” Never hearing about this, I looked at her like she was crazy but quickly became curious to learn about this technique. She began to tell me all of the benefits from this pulling and the wonderful things it can do for your body.

I’m a research kind of girl, so that evening I began to look into the technique to see if this was something I would like to add into my daily routine. I immediately began to see words like, “extending life span, removing internal toxins, whitening teeth, promoting overall health,” which seemed inticing to me. The next day, I headed on over to my neighborhood Walmart and purchased organic coconut oil to begin this process.


So here is what is recommend for any of you wanting to try this.

First thing when I wake up in the morning I take 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and swish it around my mouth for 20 minutes (I time myself on my phone). Now I know what you are thinking (20 minutes is a long time ) BUT I don’t do this every morning. It is recommended to do this 3-4 days a week. Normally, I do this about 2-3 days a week.

Next, I expectorate the coconut oil into the sink and rise my mouth with warm salt water to see the full affects of the oil pulling. Then, I brush my teeth like normal.

I have seen amazing results in my overall health.

  • My skin is brighter.
  • I have not been to the doctor in over a year.
  • My teeth are more white than normal (I’m a daily coffee drinker so this is huge).
  • Morning breath (yuck) has subsided TREMENDOUSLY and almost nonexistent.
  • All of the inflammation in my body has subsided (flat tummy, WHOOP) and has aided to benefitting my psoriasis.

  1. It’s been a couple years since I’ve oil pulled, but when I did, I reversed a cavity. I was told I had a spot to watch if I remember correctly, so I scheduled a consult after my six month cleaning in which I found out I had that suspicious spot and showed up with medical research supporting it. My dentist allowed me to try it without even looking at the research, and when I went back for cleanings since then, I was told no cavities or suspicious spots.

    I could use clear skin. Nothing seems to work right now. I’m thinking my acne is hormonal then. That being said, your post has inspired me to at least consider starting it again.
